Just because someone says 'polishing Act 1', or whatever, doesn't mean the other acts don't exist. [...] Extra polish on Act 1 is because that's what's going live in the beta/network test, so it is frontloaded.
We aren't adding any new things, or pushing dates to jam extra features in. More than plenty of features and content for a 20 dollar game are in there. Mostly, our time has lately been consumed with a lot of play at home tests where we deal with the joys of NAT tables, McAfee, router strangeness, and social features related to networking. All very enjoyable. However, we are pretty close to done with those, at which point we will switch back to full-time content polish on remaining assets, and said content polish will go much faster. (While external network test/beta/whatever we call it is running )
Torchlight 2 developer Runic Games is putting on a brave front as the reckoning of Diablo 3 comes this May. Runic once respectfully joked that it would have Torchlight 3 out before Diablo 3 launched, but after significant delays, Torchlight 2 will likely launch after Blizzard's behemoth.
"We know a lot of you are worried about us. We've heard what you're saying, and sure we've had similar discussions," a Runic statement notes on the Torchlight 2 site. "But we began making the first Torchlight in 2008 when development on Diablo 3 was already underway. We didn't let that be a reason that we couldn't make an RPG."
"There will be unforeseen challenges along the way, no matter what business you're in. We've chosen to stay small with a total team of 32. We're pretty sure that we want this game out more than anyone (not just so that we can resume a normal sleep schedule!) -- but we are going to do it right. That's our commitment to you, and to ourselves."
Torchlight 2 currently has no launch window. Runic Games is scheduled to launch its Torchlight MMO in late 2012 or early 2013.
"[...] or early 2013." meinst Du?

Your wish has (already) been granted!
Jthayn über die Anzahl der verschiedenen Monster die einem in TL2 auflauern werden:Generally monsters attack the first thing they see. They seem to reassess their target occasionally, but you're not going to get the same structure that WoW and other games offer.
Und zuletzt noch BrianW über die Einfachheit der Bedienung von TorchED 2:Shhhh Im not here... as a rough guestimate.. I can count easily 70+ monsters models off the top of my head (not counting bosses and the myriad of things I cant remember)... theres honestly lots more than TL1... lots lots more. I mean lots... In the editor there are hundreds of variations of the existing models and I think we will be talking more about this in the future. Until then, remember.. I was never here.
Wer also mit dem Editor des ersten Teils umgehen konnte, wird auch beim Editor des zweiten Teils keine Probleme haben. Ein wenig Einarbeitung wird aber auch dieses mal notwendig sein.It would be neat to do, but the editor is primarily the tool that we use internally for building the game. Hopefully, it will be a bit easier to use this time around, but I think it's fair to say that it will remain a fairly involved piece of software.
